What I’m doing now
Just back from 3 weeks visiting family and friends in Europe.
Part of that trip was releasing some of my Love’s ashes (turned into Stones) into the North Sea in Scotland,
for him to be and commune with his long ago ancestors.
Here is the moment I released him.

Obligatory 4/8/24 Eclipse watching picture!
If you want the story of how I got my Eclipse glasses,
I made an IG Reel all about it! (It’s an homage to small towns).
How Liz got her Eclipse Glasses!

Right now….I’m still reeling from the loss of my Love 3 weeks ago. I can’t believe he’s physically gone, but I DO know he’s OK. He has made himself known in NO uncertain terms.
I Love you Steve. I always will. I miss you, but I thank you for showing me what True Love is.
We were so happy

Right now, I’m thinking a lot about what makes me content.
Not “Happy” in the traditional sense, but content in the way my life is right NOW (see what I did there?!)
Part of that is, believe it or not, making Instagram Reels! I had never made one before August 1st of this year, but, after participating in an IG Reels Challenge,Β I am having a blast making them. They are usually business related, sometimes not, but I am so surprised at the amazingly positive effect making these little creative videos is having on my general outlook.
Check ’em out if you feel so moved! I hope they make you smile! HireLizVO on Insta

Right now, I am thinking about the meaning of “True Love.”
Friday, 1.20.23 marked one-year since my Love’s stroke, on the day we were supposed to be married.
I decided to mark the day by putting on the wedding band which he was supposed to bestow upon me that day.
I still love you, Steve.

Right now I’m wishing for the continued healing of the Love of my Life,
who had a stroke the morning that we were to me married.
Heal, my Love, heal.

Right now, I’m happy to have survived 2020!
AND for the fact of getting back to my visual art.
It’s here if you want to see a couple of pieces.
What’s making you happy today?

Right now I am so proud to be a native New Yorker.
And am SO glad to have an adult at the wheel in the form of our Governor, Andrew Cuomo.
A friend sent me this and it made me laugh!!

Right now I am amazed at the power of the Internet to connect generations and have fun with the space/time continuum!
This morning I got an email from a small museum in the north of France with this picture of a postcard my mother wrote to a colleague at the Nuremberg Trials in 1946.
My mother will have been gone 10 years this July.
She’s reminding me to make sure I don’t forget her.
As IF that were possible! Bonjour Maman!

Right now, I’m trying to stay as calm as my Harlow Kitteh.
I wish you calm & peace during this crazy time we are living in.

It’s a Chuck’s kind of day π
I have loved these since I was a kid. Why change now?

Lines. On the road.
I came out to check my mail today…and…saw…this
Hmmmmm. Will these really help drivers?
What about life?
How much time do we spend covering up our path with extraneous stuff that obscures our journey?
That’s what I’m thinking about today.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, they say.
This was Christmas Breakfast.
CrΓͺpes. You would expect anything else? π
What I’m think about is that I need to do this more often.

I’m just so grateful to wake up to THIS view every morning.
I mean, seriously….what’s not to love!
These are my favorite colors of the year…the blues and whites of a Catskill Winter.

Thinking about this today:
Are you helping people?
Are they happy?
Are you happy?
Isn’t that enough?

Coming down from an amazing weekend at a voiceover UN-Conference with friends old and new.
And the fact that I sponsored and was there at the start of the event back in 2010 keeps me energized,
and I always come back with new ideas on how to improve my biz & my processes.
Oh…and it’s FUN!

Yep, it’s Solar Eclipse 2017 Day here in the States.
So…what do you do when you forgot to buy Eclipse Glasses?
You go old school!

Thinking about this:
When is a paper towel holder not JUST a paper towel holder?
When it’s the one your dad hand-made in 1976, and you just reinstalled it in your newly renovated kitchen.
Old & new together.
Yeah. That works.
Merci, Papa.
(Yes, that’s subway tile. I’m a native New Yorker, I HAD to have subway tile!)

It has been a busy summer.
And what I’m enjoying right now..is my new kitchen!. With the view out to “my” mountain. π
This kitchen hadn’t been touched since 1975…you can imagine the 70’s linoleum that is now GONE! Yay!
Gratitude abounds as this reno was paid for, without going into debt,
and made possible by doing what I love, and a finacΓ© who was just as invested.
Layla the cat seems to be enjoying it as well. π
Quick Tip: if you have cats, and you get a “touchless faucet,”
remember to turn it off before you go to bed or leave the house….trust me on this.
